Senior Director of Informatics
Rajeev Sehgal is Senior Director of Informatics for SRS business at Azenta Life Sciences. Rajeev is responsible for development and execution of Informatics strategy including product management, development, SQA, delivery and support. Rajeev has been with Azenta for six months now and is leading the delivery of Project Elevate (Limfinity for internal biorepository services) and Limfinity projects for commercial customers. Limfinity is a key enabler for the SRS strategy.
Rajeev has over 28 years of professional experience with ~20 years in Life Sciences industry. Prior to joining Azenta, Rajeev has spent the last 13 years developing and commercializing innovative informatics solutions for Bayer Healthcare and BD (Becton Dickinson) addressing connectivity, workflow management, and data analytics needs in radiology, microbiology/molecular labs, and point of care testing.
At BD, Rajeev led the creation of informatics strategy, development and launch of the BD Synapsys Informatics solution. BD Synapsys informatics is a browser-based solution that enables instrument interoperability with LIS/EMR within and across labs, integrated workflows across instruments and actionable insights to drive lab performance. This solution supports both microbiology and molecular labs. Rajeev also led development and commercialization of COVID informatics solution for BD Veritor System rapid antigen test.
Prior to joining BD in 2015, Rajeev worked at Bayer Healthcare (2005-2015) managing different radiology products and spent 2010-2015 building an Informatics business from the ground up. This work resulted in creation of a new product category in radiology: Contrast Dose Management, and a unique Total Dose Management offering combining contrast and radiation dose to improve patient safety and radiology workflow.
Prior to his career at Bayer Healthcare, Rajeev worked in the telecom industry both in software development and product management.
Rajeev has an undergraduate degree in Computer Science from IIT-Varanasi, India and MBA degree from Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh. Rajeev has also served as a board member and secretary of IVD industry consortium IICC (IVD Industry Connectivity Consortium) from 2016 - 2022.
