As a first-generation graduate, learning new things/ideas, challenging the status-quo, and hustling through the challenges was very natural to me. I was fortunate to find the kindness of my patrons, courage of my family, and guidance of my mentors; things that have helped me and continue to help me in becoming the person I am.
After a brief stint in academia, my desire to work in the medical field and influence the drug development process to provide better access for medicines inspired me to pursue further education. After completing my post-graduate degree, I worked in the R&D department of several leading biopharmaceutical companies to support new drug development.
Realizing the limitations of the life-sciences industry in India, I was encouraged to pursue a management degree and decided to immigrate to the United States.
